Our Pastor

Father Robert Chung, S.C.R.

The eldest son of first-generation Taiwanese immigrants, Father Robert was taught to work hard in life and to excel in school and in his career; however, his grandfather always reminded him that amidst the hustle of daily life, one should never forget religion and faith, especially the holy Catholic faith. Therefore, holy mass and the Rosary were daily features in his life growing up.

At the age of fifteen, he felt God calling him. However, sensing that a well-grounded secular education was extremely important in spiritual formation, Robert approached the Old Catholic Church of America (OCCA) to study for the priesthood and also continue receiving a secular education.

Life took a few different turns for Father Robert that caused him to set aside his seminary studies once he left home for college. After a nearly twelve-year hiatus and a decade-long career on Wall Street, Father Robert felt that God was calling him to complete what he had begun. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit and under the tutelage of Bishop Joseph Ciccone, Robert resumed his priestly studies. After a journey that spanned eighteen years, Robert was finally ordained into the Sacred Priesthood of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

Father Robert currently serves as the Superior General of the Society of Christ the King. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History cum laude from Yale University, Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry and Theology from Franciscan University in Steubenville.
